
J. Winston Phillips is a Montreal-based composer whose music adheres
to the notions of active, yet subtle, note-oriented minimalism various slowly evolving,
repetitive themes that gently float along, without the need for any noticeable climax.
Upon his completion of Electroacoustic and Composition studies at Concordia University,
Montreal in 2003, Winston has since become an active member of the Montreal
experimental electronic music community and has collaborated and performed with the
likes of tobias c. van Veen, his brother Tomas Phillips, experimental filmmaker Daichi Saito,
Dean King, kotoist Emiko Toguchi and theatre director Kate Bligh. Winston is also
composing for and performing with his electroacoustic trio oen sujet.
