Aidan Baker is a musician and writer currently based in Toronto, Canada.
Classically trained in flute, he is self-taught on guitar, drums, violin, and
various other instruments. He has performed at many different venues in
and around Toronto and has also performed in New York, Montreal, Chicago,
and San Francisco. Baker has released several cds on independent labels
around the world and is the author of two books of poetry, two poetry chapbooks,
and various works of poetry, fiction, and criticism in international and scholarly journals.
As a solo artist, Baker explores the deconstructive sonic possibilities of the electric guitar
as a primary sound source, creating music that ranges from experimental to electro-acoustic
to ambient electronica. He also plays with the experimental/ethno-ambient group ARC,
the post-space-rock group Mnemosyne, and the ambient doom metal project Nadja.
